Most calibrations take 60–120 minutes in-shop. Complex multi-system vehicles (Subaru EyeSight, Rivian, Tesla) can take up to 3 hours. Dynamic road-drive calibrations add 30–60 minutes.
On any vehicle newer than roughly 2018, yes — almost always. Forward-facing cameras mount directly to the windshield or its bracket. Any glass replacement moves the camera. Skipping calibration means your automatic emergency braking, lane-keep, and adaptive cruise may not function correctly.
